Project Overview Closures & Restrictions

SR143/Sky Harbor Boulevard Traffic Interchange Improvement Project - The existing traffic interchange ramps between State Route 143 (Hohokam Expressway) and Sky Harbor Boulevard will be reconfigured to improve traffic flow and consolidate access from Sky Harbor International Airport to State Route 143 and Loop 202. In addition, southbound State Route 143 will be widened by one lane between Washington Street and University Drive to complement the new directional ramps.

The ADOT project team currently is preparing design documents along with supporting environmental clearance documentation, and comments are being sought from interested parties who want to contribute to the study.

The process of constructing improvements on State Route 143 (Hohokam Expressway) require traffic restrictions to freeway lanes, on and off-ramps, as well as additional restrictions to surface streets. Daytime and nighttime construction activities are expected throughout the project.

Outreach to businesses, agencies, and the traveling public continues throughout the design and construction phases. Public comment and input are encouraged and can be submitted via the website (www.valleyfreeways.com), 24-hour hotline, and project email. Project representatives are available to answer project-related questions throughout design and construction. Please contact the Project Team at 602.787.3927 or email us at ADOT@hdrinc.com
