Freeway plans show disregard

Nowhere else in the city have we witnessed utter disregard for communities as in the case of the South Mountain freeway being considered on Pecos Road.

As a frustrated resident, my questions are:

1. Why were these communities allowed to develop and flourish for as long as they did when Pecos was the "only alternative"?

2. Why not be proactive and work a deal out with the Gila tribe to take the loop out to Queen Creek Road?

3. Can ADOT give in writing that this is going to be not used as a bypass for trucks?

4. In the last meeting at Kyrene de Los Lagos school, ADOT still had no answers on many of the questions on air quality and whether it would be raised or below grade.

So how will you suddenly have all answers in the next 12 months when you could not figure out the same in 20 years?
