The Ahwatukee Foothills Village Planning Committee will continue its discussion on the proposed South Mountain Freeway at next week's meeting.

Addressing the topic follows January's meeting when Arizona Department of Transportation representatives updated the committee on the progress of the ongoing freeway study.

Committee members expressed dismay that studies of Ahwatukee Foothills areas were continuing, while no sites had been identified on the Gila Indian River Community.

In other matters, the committee will discuss:

* The city's process for landscape maintenance on arterial streets in Ahwatukee Foothills;

* The use of bond funds for the purchase of Phoenix preserve land in the area of South Mountain 620 state trust land;

* Amendments to the city's Street Classification map for Shaughnessey Road, 19th Street and Clubhouse Drive in Ahwatukee Foothills.

The meeting will be held at the Senior Center, 5051 E. Elliot Road, 6 p.m. March 28.
