Closures & Restrictions
ADOT is committed to keeping the public informed of upcoming closures with as much notice as possible.

 

INTERSTATE 17 NEAR CORDES JUNCTION (STATE ROUTE 69)

  • Northbound Interstate 17 near Cordes Junction will be closed intermittently from 8 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 31) to 2 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 1) for work at the Big Bug Creek Bridge. Each closure is expected to last up to 15 minutes. Expect delays or consider adjusting travel schedules.
  • The right lane of northbound I-17 at Cordes Junction will be closed overnights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday (Jan. 3) through Friday (Feb. 3). Delays possible.
  • The left lane of southbound I-17 at Cordes Junction will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 1) and Thursday (Feb. 2). Delays possible.

Work is being done in conjunction with a $50 million project to reconstruct the I-17/SR 69 interchange. Cordes Junction is located about 65 miles north of downtown Phoenix and is the primary gateway to Yavapai County. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: UPCOMING INTERSTATE 17 CLOSURES IN NORTH PHOENIX PENDING FOR PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE PROJECT - MARCH 2012

Interstate 17 will be closed one direction at a time over two weekends in March as crews set the span for a pedestrian bridge over the freeway near Happy Valley Road on the south side of the CAP Canal. Specific details are pending; preliminary details are as follows:

Location of closures:

  • Northbound Interstate 17 from Happy Valley Road to Loop 303 on one weekend night/early morning
  • Southbound Interstate 17 from Loop 303 to Happy Valley Road on a following weekend night/early morning
  • North- and southbound I-17 will NOT be closed at the same time

Detours:

  • Northbound drivers: Exit at Happy Valley Road westbound to Lake Pleasant Parkway northbound to Loop 303 eastbound to re-connect with I-17
  • Southbound drivers: Exit at Loop 303 westbound to Lake Pleasant Parkway southbound to Happy Valley Road westbound to re-connect with I-17

Day(s) and times:

  • Late Saturday/early Sunday from approximately 12 midnight to 4 a.m.
