Project Details:
In partnership with the City of Phoenix, a new full diamond traffic interchange will be constructed at Interstate 17 (Black Canyon Freeway) and Jomax Road and a half-diamond traffic interchange with ramps to the south will be constructed at I-17 and Dixileta Drive. New bridge structures will be constructed at Jomax Road and Dixileta Drive over I-17. Existing two-way frontage roads along I-17 between Happy Valley Road and Dixileta Drive will be converted to more efficient and safer one-way roads. New northbound and southbound frontage road bridges over Skunk Creek are also included in the project.
Traffic Management During Construction:
During construction of these projects, ADOT plans to maintain two lanes of traffic along I-17 in each direction during peak hours. ADOT will coordinate with the City of Phoenix to coordinate traffic during the conversion of the frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
