SR 195: I-8 to US 95

Purpose of Project

The purpose of this project is to extend SR 195 north of I-8 to connect to US 95 and complement the local and regional road network. The connection to US 95 would provide access from the planned commercial port of entry at San Luis to another major highway (US 95), further facilitating the movement of goods between the United States and Mexico, and would provide an additional, enhanced, travel corridor within the City of Yuma.

Public Meetings

The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are seeking comments about possible alignments for the proposed extension of State Route 195 (SR 195) between Interstate 8 (I-8) and US 95 in Yuma. Engineering and environmental studies have been initiated to determine what improvements would be needed.

Public Information meeting, September 17, 2009

A public meeting was held on September 17, 2009, at Gila Ridge High School in Yuma to present recommendations from the Alternative Selection Report and Environmental Overview and to seek specific comments on the recommendations for the proposed extension of SR 195 between I-8 and US 95 in Yuma. The meeting handouts, presentation and comment sheet are provided in the links below. Comments are due by October 2, 2009; contact information for comment submittal is listed on the comment sheet.

A public meeting was held on November 8, 2007 at Mary A. Otondo Elementary School in Yuma to seek comments on possible alignments for the proposed extension of SR 195 between I-8 and US 95 in Yuma.
