| SR 195: 40th Street to I-8
Construction
Project No. H5774 07C
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will begin construction on the new State Route 195. Construction on the first segment that will connect 40th Street to Interstate 8 along Araby Road is scheduled to start on October 24. The $6.2 million project consists of new pavement, widening the existing roadways, drainage improvements, sidewalks, curbs, and a new traffic signal.
Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., with project completion scheduled for mid-summer 2008. Initial work will begin with installation of a temporary traffic signal on 32nd Street at Araby Road and removal of the medians on Araby Road north of 32nd Street. During construction, there may be some intermittent traffic delays. Operators of commercial trucks and large farm equipment are advised to use alternative routes due to lane-width restrictions.
ADOT advises motorists to comply with all posted restrictions throughout the project area.
ADOT and its construction contractor, Desert Road Builders, will make every effort to minimize the disruptions and inconvenience and to complete this project in a safe and efficient manner. For additional information:
