Work to repave a 16-mile segment of Interstate 15 will continue the week of Aug. 6, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The $11.6 million project, which is scheduled for completion in October, includes removal of a layer of the existing pavement and repaving the roadway.
Next week's work will be on southbound I-15 between mileposts 14 and 19. The right lane will be closed:
- 6 a.m. Monday, Aug 6 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7
- 3 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug 8 through Friday, Aug 10.
The speed limit through the work zone will be reduced to 45 mph.
The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
