The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun construction on roadway improvements to Interstate 10, between Interstate 8 and State Route 87 in the cities of Picacho and Casa Grande in Pinal County. This segment of I-10 will be widened from two lanes to three lanes in each direction to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety. It includes reconstruction of 11 interchange bridges and 2 ramps. Construction began in September 2010 and is expected to be completed by Spring 2012.

This $31.3 million project is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
