Motorists traveling on eastbound Interstate 10 near Benson will encounter a lane closure on Tuesday (Feb. 21) as construction continues on the new overpass at the State Route 90 interchange.
The left lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed to traffic for a half mile after the junction with SR 90 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday to allow work crews to deliver materials to the construction work area.
The work is part of the Arizona Department of Transportation's $27.6 million project to replace the overpass bridge in western Cochise County and to replace a curving segment of interstate west of the overpass.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
