Motorists on Interstate 10 near Benson will encounter daytime lane restrictions Wednesday (Feb. 8) through Friday (Feb. 10) while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues construction of a new section of eastbound lanes near the State Route 90 interchange.
The left lane closures will be in effect for one mile west of the SR 90 overpass (Exit 302) in both directions from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day to allow ADOT crews to safely continue construction work and deliver asphalt materials needed to construct the new lanes.
The work is part of the ongoing $27.6 million project to replace the old overpass bridge at SR 90, straighten a section of I-10 west of the interchange and make improvements to SR 90 near the overpass.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
