Scott's background and experience include work in transportation planning, programming, project management, traffic, project development, and operations. Scott first joined the ADOT Yuma District in February 1993 and was assigned to Regional Traffic. He spent over 13 years there, working in Traffic, Development, and Operations. In 2006, Scott left ADOT to work for the City of Yuma as a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project Manager. He joined Parsons Brinckerhoff in April of 2007 as a Senior Project Manager, and was the Western Region Project Manager for Building a Quality Arizona (bqAZ), and the Program Manager for Local Government ARRA Projects in the Eastern MAG Region. In April of 2010, Scott returned to ADOT as the Director of the Planning and Programming Group in the Multimodal Planning Division. Scott is certified as a Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) and a Certified Public Manager (CPM).
Scott leads the state's Planning Division and was appointed September 26, 2011. He oversees the Department's development of multimodal plans and programs through a collaborative process. He also oversees the research activity of the Department that enables innovation in transportation.
