Richard Travis was appointed the Deputy Director of ADOT in February 2007. Richard’s experience and knowledge includes budget management, strategic planning, legislative relations, media strategy and outreach efforts with trade associations, organized labor and local governments.

   Richard began working for the state of Arizona in 1989 and maintains a law degree and a BA in Philosophy. Richard attended the University of Arizona, College of Law in Tucson, Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and London School of Economics and Political Science where his concentrated study was economics, political science and comparative legal theory.

   Prior to joining ADOT, Richard worked at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, the Arizona Supreme Court, the Arizona House of Representatives and Child Protective Services.
