ADOT public open houses to present vision of transportation future
November 4, 2009
Arizonans invited to view framework they helped create
PHOENIX — Arizona has changed dramatically over the past 40 years, and is poised for new challenges in growth and transportation over the next 40. As we continue to grow, where will we live, work and play? How will we get to where we need to go?
The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a statewide participation process that started in early 2008. During that process, ADOT worked collaboratively with Arizona communities to develop a Statewide Transportation Planning Framework that outlines our transportation needs and goals.
This framework represents the vision for Arizona’s transportation system over the next 40 years – a vision in which proactive investment decisions can be made now to prepare us for the projected growth ahead. ADOT is now ready to present the full range of recommendations that was developed with communities statewide.
Come join us to take a look at where we’ve been and where we’re going. These events will be unlike any other public open house, as ADOT premieres a short movie, followed by interactive displays and engaging dialogue. Three unique open houses are planned statewide, beginning next week – don’t miss the opportunity to experience Arizona’s transportation future.
