2009 INTERNATIONAL AVIATION ART CONTEST

The Aeronautics Division is once again sponsoring the 2009 International Aviation Art Contest for children throughout Arizona. All children between the ages of 6 - 17 years of age are eligible to compete. The theme this year is, "CREATE A POSTER FOR THE WORLD AIR GAMES." Let's see how creative you can get!!! Phoenix Goodyear Airport receives "Airport of the Year" award

The Phoenix Goodyear Airport was the recipient of this year’s “Airport of the Year” award, sponsored annually by the Aeronautics Division of the Arizona Department of Transportation, (ADOT). Aeronautics Division Director, Barclay Dick, presented the award at the 2008 Arizona Airports Association’s, (AzAA) annual Spring Conference, held in Prescott.

"TAKEOFF TO READING" Program

This program is designed to encourage children to get more involved in reading. At the request of schools (preschool through high school), staff visits the classroom with an aviation themed book to share with the students. Everyone is encouraged to participate, ask questions or comment on the books. To request a visit, please contact Carole Glenn.
