Toastmaster's 2012 Spring Newsletter:

Good afternoon everyone!  It seems that another Toastmaster's term has already passed us by, but that never stops the Capitol Toastmasters.  over the past few month, there have been some big initiatives presented in the club.  First, to kick-off the spring season the State of Arizona turned a grand 100 yers old and to ommiserate that historic event, the Capitol Toastmasters rolled out the AZ Centennial Membership Drive, and it is still ongoing.  To date, the club has welcomed in tew new members and also brought in a slew of new guests to open their eyes to the "way of the Toastmaster".  When it's all said and done, the membership drive will have looked to bring in a total of four new members to the club, and a tone of new guests.

More importantly, the club is continuing to work on a Spring Social Bash, where all current and past members and their families can come and enjoy some wonderful fellowship and good times.  This was all made possible by the gracious donation of last years President, Tim Owens who was so kind to make a cash donation in the hopes of jump starting the social event!  Thanks Tim!

As always, the VP of Education is whipping the Toastmasters into shape to get those manuals done, and just recently the club has had several members finish the CC and CL manuals, along with those the club has even had a few advances series manuals get finihsed with many more getting started.  In the grand scheme of things, Education is the reason that Toastmasters exists, and I like many others have said for a while now, our VP of Education, Leigh, is the "super" glue that holds this club together!

Lastly, for all current officers, the terms are up at the end of June and the club will be soon holding elections for the new corps of officers that are going to hold leadership roles within the club.  This is a very joyful period for all Toastmasters members, because it is a changing of the guard in a way, and it allows for new members along with old members to infuse the club with excitement and determination.  Plus, the induction ceremony for the new officers is a very distinguished and meaningful event for the entire club!  So if you are interested in becoming a club officer, let any current officer know.

Finally, looking back on the year that has been, I truly would like to commend all members of the Capitol Toastmasters for a job well done.  As always the entire club worked together as a team to pull together events, meetings, speech contests, pay dues, invite guests, and the list could go on for days, but I only have so much space.  So in closing, great job on another wonderful year Capitol Toastmasters!
